Introducing that very luminosity. Introducing that very luminosity. Third, there are six introductions to luminosity and so forth: introducing that very nature as luminosity, introducing that very nature as Mahamudra, introducing that very nature as Mahayana, introducing that very nature as Madhyamaka, introducing that very nature as Prajnaparamita, and introducing that very nature as qualities. First, introducing that very nature as luminosity: From the Sutra of the Sun's Radiance: "What is called yoga? It is the luminous nature of the mind, unmade, uncorrected, unadulterated, the true nature. What is called practice? It is to take it into experience without error. One who practices in this way is called a Bhikshu Yogacara." The meaning of this is that when the six branches are practiced with the binding union that actualizes the Alaya-jnana Mahamudra, the Great Madhyamaka, the Great Vehicle, the Great Prajnaparamita, and the Tathagatagarbha itself, what manifests is that the appearances of the container and its contents—earth, water, fire, wind, earth, stones, mountains, cliffs, plants, forests, the appearances of the six realms, body, enjoyment, everything with attachment and obstruction, mutually obscuring—are not so. Everything is the nature of light, the essence of light, the transformation of light, the distinction of light, the particularity of light, the aspect of light, the mind that is the nature of freedom from elaboration, is only luminosity. As it says in the Great Play: "Profound, peaceful, free from elaboration, luminous, unconditioned, I have found a Dharma like nectar." And as it says in the Eight Thousand: "That mind is no-mind, the nature of mind is luminosity." This means that the ultimate mind is the luminosity that is without the conventional mind. In the Hundred Thousand and Twenty Thousand, etc., there is the Samadhi called 'Radiating Light,' and similarly, there is the Samadhi of Infinite Light, the Samadhi of Making Light, the Samadhi of Universal Illumination, the Samadhi of Immaculate Light, the Samadhi of Clear Appearance, the Samadhi of Making Appearance, and the Samadhi called 'Making Light in All Ways.' These Samadhis are explained by the previous meaning. From the Praise of Names: "Great Nose, luminous, great light appearing clearly."

Conduct, the one who holds the light and illuminates, the majestic and great luminous one, thus it is said. In the Root Tantra of Empowerment, it is said, "Various forms, sounds, and luminosity." In the Great Sky Tantra, it is said, "Luminous is the great sky itself. If the nature of the Dharmakaya is realized, whether there is accomplishment or not, that itself is great accomplishment." Thus it is said. In the Vajra Garland Tantra, it is said, "The clear state of luminous awareness is the utterly pure Dharmadhatu, the supreme non-dual wisdom, fully awakened and fully manifest." Thus it is said. In the Mahamaya, it is said, "All phenomena are luminous in nature, primordially pure and without defilement." Thus it is said. In the Manifestation of Enlightenment, it is said, "All phenomena are like forms and sounds, clear, pure, and without defilement, ungraspable and inexpressible, truly arising from cause and action. Vajrasattva is like a mirror, clear, pure, and without stain, the essence of all Buddhas, entering into the heart of you, my son." Thus it is said, the luminous that cannot be grasped in delusion is the meaning of manifestly arising from action in the Good Conduct Tantra. In the Uttaratantra, it is said, "Because the nature of that mind is luminous, it sees that afflictions have no essence." Thus it is said. In the Dharmadhatu Praise, it is said, "Likewise, the Dharmadhatu covered by afflictions, even though utterly pure, in samsara, the light does not shine forth, in nirvana, the light transforms." Thus it is said. In the Pramanavarttika, it is said, "The nature of this mind is luminous, all defilements are adventitious." Thus it is said. Lord Tilopa said, "Likewise, in a single moment of self-aware luminosity, all accumulated sins and obscurations of eons are eliminated without remainder." Thus it is said. The hero Saraha said, "Having seen that luminous Dharma, relying on the master's timely methods and reflecting back, this Prajnaparamita is found in other sutras, applying this universally to the mind, one should diligently meditate." Thus it is said, one should meditate on this luminous, the essential meaning of all sutras and tantras. Lord Shavari said, "Within it, the six realms and so forth, and the extremely subtle Nirmanakaya, and the many Sambhogakayas that are seen, are various forms, sounds, and luminosity." Thus it is said. The pure scriptural proofs that show the ultimate Dharmakaya itself as luminous appear immeasurable. Thus, these are the transformations of the wisdom of the alaya.

The self-appearance of Mahamudra, the self-nature of Mahayana, the experience of the Great Madhyamaka, the manifestation of the Tathagatagarbha, the profound wave of Other-Emptiness, the play of the luminous Dharmakaya. The Samadhi called Profound Appearance of the Profound Prajnaparamita. The great sound of luminosity. All the great expanse of luminosity should be recognized as the mind of ultimate truth.
