Introducing the Various Flavors of Wisdom Introducing the Various Flavors of Wisdom Fourth, introducing the various flavors of wisdom: Flavor should be realized as Samadhi. The meaning of "the basis of all, the Great Seal of Wisdom, the Great Madhyamaka, the Great Vehicle, the profound Prajnaparamita, the Tathagatagarbha, the union that binds it, when practicing the six-limbed yoga, what manifests is: flavor falling into six biases. Namely: salty, sweet, spicy, bitter, astringent, and sour." Among these, salty flavors are like the taste of rock salt, sea salt, crude salt, potash, halite, borax, alkaline salt, and wood salt. Sweet flavors are like the taste of sugar, jaggery, honey, milk, and tree sap. Spicy flavors are like the taste of warming medicine, dried ginger, and garlic. Bitter flavors are like the taste of Coptis chinensis and Sophora flavescens. Astringent flavors are like the taste of Amla and buckthorn. Sour flavors are like the taste of sour wine, sour water, gooseberries, and the stems of aquatic plants. Thus, both food and drink of the six flavors can be determined as sixfold. If the flavor is biased, it is not delicious; if the flavor is balanced, it is delicious. For these six flavors of food and drink, each flavor has three aspects: strong, weak, and balanced. For example, salty flavor can be strong, weak, or balanced. As long as the obscuring seed wind has not ceased, various flavors will appear, such as delicious, pleasing, displeasing, beneficial for illness, and not beneficial for illness. This is because all sorts of things appear in the experience of yoga. When the obscuring seed wind ceases, and the momentary Samadhi of unchanging bliss is attained, and the appearance of the uncontaminated Dharmakaya largely manifests, all appearances and existences are the supreme delicious flavor, vast and abundant, perfectly complete, suitable for Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the delicious food and clothing that can fulfill all needs, the body, mind, and senses are all immersed in it, and the great bliss Samadhi that fills the sky will appear. This is the meaning of "living on meditative food" and "eating Samadhi."
