༈ The Twelfth Sharpa. ༈ The Twelfth Sharpa. ༈ The Twelfth Sharpa was a disciple of Khenpo Pukpa, born in Lower Do Kham. He met the Dharma Lord Oser Lama of Smar Tsang and listened to many teachings. He had seven teachers. Having heard the fame of Pukpa Tsultrim Yeshe, he went to the Kilna hermitage. He offered unparalleled gifts, including conch shells, boxes, and tea. Merely meeting him awakened his karmic connection, making him not slack in the Dharma. The Lama also considered him a worthy disciple and completely bestowed all the teachings upon him. He practiced near the Lama for six years. According to the prophecy of Lama Rinpoche, to establish the monastery of Ngorong, he went up from Kator Da. He encountered an old man plowing the field and reciting names there. The Lama asked the man: What is the name of this place? I am an ascetic, hoping to build a small monastery here. The man, while plowing and reciting, did not answer immediately, but after a while said: Erect the victory banner of Dharma well! Having said that, he stopped there and asked the Lama: Where do you come from? There is a good monastery over there called Pukya Kina. He said many good words. The Lama was pleased and engaged in much pleasant conversation, then went to that place, established the monastery of Ngorong, and nurtured monks. Within a year, there were about fifty monks. They all vowed to prioritize practice. He established Trakdo Monastery in Upper Nyingthang. He built the main temple, as well as golden Gandhiras, painted gold statues, clay statues, and so on, in unimaginable quantities. He also established the hermitage of Ma Khim. He passed away at the age of seventy-two. All his disciples were beneficial to sentient beings, and the holder of the lineage was his nephew Sonam Drakpa. He heard all the teachings from the Lama. He had no obstacles in clairvoyance and the transformation of his body. He held the seats of Ngorong and Trakdo. When he passed away, the gods held offerings and openly made offerings. From the lineage of his nephew, many learned and accomplished Lamas emerged. This is the story of Sharpa.
