Wholesome nutriments are a condition for associated aggregates by way of the condition of nutriment. A wholesome phenomenon is a condition for an indeterminate phenomenon by way of the condition of nutriment. Wholesome nutriments are a condition for mind-originated material forms by way of the condition of nutriment," was taught by the Blessed One, having been analyzed in detail in this manner. Detailed analysis of the condition of faculty Question – How was the sixteenth detailed analysis of the condition of faculty, taught by that Blessed One, friend… and so on… having been analyzed in detail? Answer – In the Abhidhamma Piṭaka, venerable sir… and so on… the sixteenth detailed analysis of the condition of faculty, "A wholesome phenomenon is a condition for a wholesome phenomenon by way of the condition of faculty. Wholesome faculties are a condition for associated aggregates by way of the condition of faculty. A wholesome phenomenon is a condition for an indeterminate phenomenon by way of the condition of faculty. Wholesome faculties are a condition for mind-originated material forms by way of the condition of faculty," was taught by the Blessed One, having been analyzed in detail in this manner. Chapter on Enumeration Question – How was the third chapter on enumeration, among the three chapters known as the chapter on questions, the chapter on answers, and the chapter on enumeration, taught by that Blessed One, friend… and so on… having been analyzed in detail? Answer – In the Abhidhamma Piṭaka, venerable sir… and so on… the third chapter on enumeration, "Seven in root, nine in object, ten in dominance, seven in contiguity and immediate contiguity, nine in co-nascence, three in mutuality, thirteen in support, nine in decisive support, three in pre-nascence, post-nascence, and repetition, seven in kamma, one in result, seven in nutriment, faculty, jhāna, and path, three in association, five in dissociation, thirteen in presence, seven in absence and disappearance, thirteen in non-disappearance," was taught by the Blessed One, having been analyzed in detail in this manner. Root, co-nascent, support, presence, non-disappearance are seven; root, co-nascent, mutuality, support And "is" and "not absent" are three, Cause, co-arising, mutuality, Support, association, "Is" and "not absent" are three... The Triad of Feeling, Dependent Origination Section Question – Venerable sir, by the Blessed One... having analyzed the first triad of wholesome (states) in detail, thereafter, the remaining twenty-one triads, beginning with the triad of feeling, how were they analyzed and taught in detail? Answer – In the Abhidhamma Pitaka, venerable sir... having analyzed the first triad of wholesome (states) in detail, thereafter, the remaining twenty-one triads, beginning with the triad of feeling, (were taught as follows): "A phenomenon associated with pleasant feeling arises conditioned by a cause, dependent on a phenomenon associated with pleasant feeling. One aggregate associated with pleasant feeling, dependent on which two aggregates (arise); two aggregates, dependent on which one aggregate (arises); at the moment of rebirth, one aggregate associated with pleasant feeling, dependent on which two aggregates (arise); two aggregates, dependent on which one aggregate (arises)" and so on. "A resultant phenomenon arises conditioned by a cause, dependent on a resultant phenomenon. One resultant aggregate, dependent on which three aggregates (arise); three aggregates, dependent on which one aggregate (arises); two aggregates, dependent on which two aggregates (arise); at the moment of rebirth, one resultant aggregate, dependent on which three aggregates (arise); three aggregates, dependent on which one aggregate (arises); two aggregates, dependent on which two aggregates (arise). A phenomenon that is neither resultant nor a phenomenon leading to result arises conditioned by a cause, dependent on a resultant phenomenon: resultant aggregates, dependent on which mind-originated matter (arises); at the moment of rebirth, resultant aggregates, dependent on which kamma-originated matter (arises); aggregates, dependent on which the base (arises)" and so on. In each and every triad, by seven great sections, and in each and every great section, by four methods, were analyzed and taught in detail by the Blessed One. The Dyad-Patthana Question – Venerable sir... among the six included Patthanas, beginning with the Triad-Patthana, having taught the first Triad-Patthana, thereafter, the Dyad-Patthana, how was it analyzed and taught in detail? Answer – In the Abhidhamma Pitaka Venerable sir… (etc.)… Among the six included Paṭṭhānas, such as the Tika-Paṭṭhāna, first, having analyzed the Tika-Paṭṭhāna, thereafter, the Duka-Paṭṭhāna, “Conditioning a root phenomenon, a root phenomenon arises, by root condition. Conditioning non-greed, non-hatred, non-delusion. Conditioning non-hatred, non-greed, non-delusion. Conditioning non-delusion, non-greed, non-hatred. Conditioning greed, delusion. Conditioning delusion, greed. Conditioning hatred, delusion. Conditioning delusion, hatred.” and so on, in this manner. Conditioning a support phenomenon, a support phenomenon arises, by root condition. Conditioning one support aggregate, three aggregates. Conditioning three aggregates, one aggregate. Conditioning two aggregates, two aggregates. Conditioning a support phenomenon, a non-support phenomenon arises, by root condition. Conditioning support aggregates, mind-originated matter. Conditioning a support phenomenon, both a support and a non-support phenomenon arise, by root condition. Conditioning one support aggregate, three aggregates and mind-originated matter. Conditioning three aggregates, one aggregate and mind-originated matter. Conditioning two aggregates, two aggregates and mind-originated matter.” and so on, in this manner. In each pair, with seven great sections, and in each great section, with four methods, the Blessed One extensively analyzed and taught. Conditioning a support phenomenon, a support phenomenon arises, by root condition. Conditioning one support aggregate, three aggregates. Conditioning three aggregates, one aggregate. Two aggregates conditioning two aggregates… Dukatikapaṭṭhāna, Dukadukapaṭṭhāna. Question: Venerable sir… (etc.)… Among the six included Paṭṭhānas, such as the Tika-Paṭṭhāna, the first Tika-Paṭṭhāna and the second Duka-Paṭṭhāna having been analyzed, how were the remaining four Paṭṭhānas, such as the Dukatikapaṭṭhāna, analyzed and taught? Depending on a wholesome root phenomenon, a wholesome non-root phenomenon arises by way of root condition. Depending on a wholesome root phenomenon, wholesome root and wholesome non-root phenomena arise by way of root condition. Depending on a wholesome non-root phenomenon, a wholesome non-root phenomenon arises by way of root condition. Depending on a wholesome non-root phenomenon, a wholesome root phenomenon arises by way of root condition. Depending on a wholesome non-root phenomenon, wholesome root and wholesome non-root phenomena arise by way of root condition." and so forth.
