The Fourfold Condition. Root Condition. 1. Dependent on a wholesome root phenomenon, a not-wholesome, not-root phenomenon arises by root condition. Dependent on a wholesome root phenomenon, a not-unwholesome, not-root phenomenon arises by root condition. Dependent on a wholesome root phenomenon, a not-indeterminate, not-root phenomenon arises by root condition. Dependent on a wholesome root phenomenon, not-unwholesome, not-root phenomena and not-indeterminate, not-root phenomena arise by root condition. Dependent on a wholesome root phenomenon, not-wholesome, not-root phenomena and not-unwholesome, not-root phenomena arise by root condition. (5) Dependent on an unwholesome root phenomenon, a not-unwholesome, not-root phenomenon arises by root condition. Dependent on an unwholesome root phenomenon, a not-wholesome, not-root phenomenon arises by root condition. Dependent on an unwholesome root phenomenon, a not-indeterminate, not-root phenomenon arises by root condition. Object condition. 3. A skillful root phenomenon is a condition by root condition for an unskillful non-root phenomenon. A skillful root phenomenon is a condition by root condition for a non-unskillful non-root phenomenon. A skillful root phenomenon is a condition by root condition for a non-neutral non-root phenomenon. A skillful root phenomenon is a condition by root condition for a non-unskillful non-root phenomenon and a non-neutral non-root phenomenon. A skillful root phenomenon is a condition by root condition for an unskillful non-root phenomenon and a non-unskillful non-root phenomenon. (5) An unskillful root phenomenon is a condition by root condition for a non-unskillful non-root phenomenon… (five). Depending on a skillful with-root phenomenon, an unskillful rootless phenomenon and a non-unskillful rootless phenomenon arise by root condition. (Three.) Depending on an unskillful with-root phenomenon, a non-unskillful rootless phenomenon arises by root condition. Unskil Conditioned by a wholesome, with-root phenomenon, phenomena that are not-wholesome, not-with-root, and not-unwholesome, not-with-root, arise by way of root condition. Three. Conditioned by an indeterminate, with-root phenomenon, a not-wholesome, not-with-root phenomenon arises by way of root condition. Conditioned by an indeterminate, with-root phenomenon, a not-unwholesome, not-with-root phenomenon arises by way of root condition. Conditioned by an indeterminate, with-root phenomenon, phenomena that are not-wholesome, not-with-root, and not-unwholesome, not-with-root, arise by way of root condition. Three. A wholesome, with-root phenomenon is a condition for a not-wholesome, not-with-root phenomenon by way of root condition. A wholesome, with-root phenomenon is a condition for a not-unwholesome, not-with-root phenomenon by way of root condition. A wholesome, with-root phenomenon is a condition for phenomena that are not-wholesome, not-with-root, and not-unwholesome, not-with-root, by way of root condition. Three. An unwholesome, with-root phenomenon is a condition for a not-unwholesome, not-with-root phenomenon by way of root condition. An unwholesome, with-root phenomenon is a condition for a not-wholesome, not-with-root phenomenon by way of root condition. An unwholesome, with-root phenomenon is a condition for phenomena that are not-wholesome, not-with-root, and not-unwholesome, not-with-root, by way of root condition. Three. An indeterminate, with-root phenomenon is a condition for a not-wholesome, not-with-root phenomenon by way of root condition. An indeterminate, with-root phenomenon is a condition for a not-unwholesome, not-with-root phenomenon by way of root condition. Depending on unwholesome, rootless dhamma, not wholesome, not rootless, and not indeterminate, not rootless dhammas arise by root condition. Three. Depending on indeterminate, rootless dhamma, not unwholesome, not rootless dhamma arises by root condition. Depending on wholesome dhamma that is both a root and with roots, not unwholesome, not a root and not rootless, and not indeterminate, not a root and not rootless dhammas arise by root condition.
