A non-clinging phenomenon is a condition for a non-clinging phenomenon by way of root condition – non-clinging roots are a condition for concomitant aggregates and non-clinging mind-originated material forms by way of root condition; at the moment of rebirth-linking... (1) A non-clinging phenomenon is a condition for a clinging phenomenon by way of root condition – non-clinging roots are a condition for clinging mind-originated material forms by way of root condition; at the moment of rebirth-linking... (2) A non-clinging phenomenon is a condition for a clinging and non-clinging phenomenon by way of root condition – non-clinging roots are a condition for concomitant aggregates and clinging and non-clinging mind-originated material forms by way of root condition; at the moment of rebirth-linking... (and so on). (3) Object Condition 395. A clinging phenomenon is a condition for a non-clinging phenomenon by way of object condition – the eye... (and so on)... the body... forms... (and so on)... tastes, the base, as impermanent... (and so on)... displeasure arises; with the divine eye, one sees form; with the divine ear element, one hears sound. The visual base is a condition for eye-consciousness... (and so on)... the taste base is a condition for tongue-consciousness by way of object condition; the clinging aggregates are a condition for the knowledge of psychic powers, the knowledge of past lives, the knowledge of future events, and for advertence by way of object condition. (1) A non-clinging phenomenon is a condition for a non-clinging phenomenon by way of object condition – having performed generosity... (and so on)... virtue... (and so on)... Uposatha practice, one reflects on it, enjoys it, delights in it; concerning that, lust arises... (and so on)... displeasure arises; formerly... (and so on)... having emerged from jhanas... (and so on)... noble paths, they reflect on the path, the fruit... (and so on)... Nibbana... (and so on)... Nibbana is a condition for the change-of-lineage, for purification, for the path, for the fruit. And, for advertence, it is a condition by way of object condition. Noble ones review defilements that have been abandoned, defilements that have been suppressed... formerly... in tangibles, non-clinging aggregates as impermanent... displeasure arises; by mind-penetrating knowledge, one knows the mind of one endowed with non-clinging consciousness, the base of infinite space for the base of infinite consciousness... the base of nothingness for the base of neither perception nor non-perception... the tangible base for body-consciousness is a condition by way of object condition; non-clinging aggregates for the knowledge of psychic powers, for mind-penetrating knowledge, for the knowledge of past lives, for the knowledge of the passing away and reappearance of beings according to their karma, for the knowledge of future events, for advertence, are a condition by way of object condition. (1) Dominance Condition 396. Clinging phenomena for non-clinging phenomena are a condition by way of dominance condition. Object dominance – having made the eye... the body... forms... tastes, an object, weighty, one enjoys it, delights in it, having made that weighty, craving arises, wrong view arises. (1) Non-clinging phenomena for non-clinging phenomena are a condition by way of dominance condition – object dominance, conascence dominance. Object dominance – having performed generosity... morality... Uposatha practice, having made that weighty, one reviews it, enjoys it, delights in it, having made that weighty, craving arises, wrong view arises. Formerly well-practiced deeds... having emerged from jhānas, having made jhana... weighty, having emerged from noble paths, having made the path weighty... the fruit... Nibbana, having made it weighty, they review it. Nibbana for the change-of-lineage, for purification, for the path, for the fruit, is a condition by way of dominance condition; in tangibles, non-clinging aggregates, having made them weighty, one enjoys them, delights in them, having made that weighty, craving arises, wrong view arises. Conascence dominance – non-clinging dominance for the associated aggregates and for non-clinging mind-originated material phenomena is a condition by way of dominance condition. (1) Non-clinging phenomena for clinging phenomena are a condition by way of dominance condition. Conascence dominance – non-clinging dominance for clinging mind-originated of the arisen material phenomena by way of predominant condition. (2) Non-clinging phenomena and clinging and non-clinging phenomena are conditioned by way of predominant condition. Conascent predominance – non-clinging predominance conditions the associated aggregates and the clinging and non-clinging material phenomena arisen from mind by way of predominant condition. (3) Beginning with the Contiguity Condition 397. Non-clinging phenomena condition non-clinging phenomena by way of contiguity condition – the earlier earlier non-clinging aggregates condition the later later non-clinging aggregates by way of contiguity condition; the adaptation to the lineage… and so on… conditions the attainment of fruition by way of contiguity condition. (1) Conditions by way of immediate contiguity condition… conditions by way of conascence condition (similar to Dependent Origination)… conditions by way of mutuality condition (similar to Dependent Origination)… conditions by way of support condition (similar to support in the condition section). Decisive Support Condition 398. Clinging phenomena condition non-clinging phenomena by way of decisive support condition – decisive support by way of object, decisive support by way of nature… and so on…. Decisive support by way of nature – relying on perfection of sight… and so on… perfection of body… perfection of complexion… perfection of sound… perfection of smell… perfection of taste… food, one gives a gift… and so on… one breaks the Sangha; perfection of sight… and so on… perfection of body… perfection of complexion… perfection of sound… perfection of smell… perfection of taste… food, by faith… and so on… conditions the attainment of fruition by way of decisive support condition. (1) Non-clinging phenomena condition non-clinging phenomena by way of decisive support condition – decisive support by way of object, decisive support by way of contiguity, decisive support by way of nature… and so on…. Decisive support by way of nature – relying on faith, one gives a gift… and so on… one produces attainment, one murmurs conceit, one grasps wrong view; relying on virtue… and so on… wisdom… passion… and so on… aspiration… bodily pleasure… bodily pain… season… lodging, one gives a gift… and so on… one breaks the Sangha; faith… and so on… lodging, by faith… and so on… conditions the attainment of fruition by way of decisive support condition. (1) Pre-nascent condition Thus 399. Clinging-condition phenomenon is a condition to non-clinging-condition phenomenon by way of pre-nascent condition – object pre-nascent, base pre-nascent. Object pre-nascent – the eye... and so on the base as impermanent... and so on dejection arises; with divine eye one sees form, with divine ear-element one hears sound. Form-base to eye-consciousness... and so on Taste-base to tongue-consciousness... and so on. Base pre-nascent – eye-base to eye-consciousness... and so on body-base... and so on the base is a condition to non-clinging aggregates by way of pre-nascent condition. (1) Non-clinging-condition phenomenon is a condition to non-clinging-condition phenomenon by way of pre-nascent condition. Object pre-nascent – in tangibles as impermanent... and so on dejection arises; tangible-base is a condition to body-consciousness by way of pre-nascent condition. (1) Clinging-condition and non-clinging-condition phenomena are conditions to non-clinging-condition phenomenon by way of pre-nascent condition – object pre-nascent, base pre-nascent. Tangible-base and body-base are conditions to body-consciousness by way of pre-nascent condition; tangible-base and the base are conditions to non-clinging aggregates by way of pre-nascent condition. (1) Post-nascent and Repetition conditions 400. Non-clinging-condition phenomenon is a condition to non-clinging-condition phenomenon by way of post-nascent condition – post-nascent non-clinging aggregates are conditions to this pre-nascent non-clinging body by way of post-nascent condition. Co-existent – non-clinging volition is a condition to associated aggregates and to non-clinging mind-originated forms by way of kamma condition; at the moment of rebirth-linking... and so on. Non-momentary: Non-clinging volition is a condition by way of kamma-condition for resultant aggregates and for non-clinging kamma-born matter. (1) A non-clinging phenomenon is a condition by way of kamma-condition for a clinging phenomenon – co-arising, non-momentary. Co-arising: Non-clinging volition is a condition by way of kamma-condition for clinging mind-born matter; at the moment of rebirth-linking...etc.
