A hindering and a non-hindering phenomenon are a condition for a non-hindering phenomenon to arise due to a cause. One non-hindering aggregate and a hindrance are a condition for three aggregates, mind-originated matter... two aggregates... a hindrance and the base are a condition for associated aggregates. A hindrance and associated aggregates are a condition for mind-originated matter. Hindrances and the great elements are a condition for mind-originated matter. (2) A hindering and a non-hindering phenomenon are a condition for hindering and non-hindering phenomena to arise due to a cause. One non-hindering aggregate and the hindrance of sensual desire are a condition for three aggregates, the hindrance of sloth-and-torpor, the hindrance of restlessness, the hindrance of ignorance... two aggregates... (cycle). The hindrance of sensual desire and the base are a condition for the hindrance of sloth-and-torpor, the hindrance of restlessness, the hindrance of ignorance, and associated aggregates (cycle. Abbreviated). (3) 1. Conditions in direct order. 2. Enumeration section. 15. Nine in cause, nine in object (everywhere). nine, in result, one, etc., in non-disappearance, nine. Direct Order. 2. Negative Conditioning 1. Section of Analysis Non-root condition 16. A hindrance phenomenon conditioned by a hindrance phenomenon arises by non-root condition: doubt-hindrance conditions ignorance-hindrance, restlessness-hindrance conditions ignorance-hindrance. (1) A non-hindrance phenomenon conditioned by a non-hindrance phenomenon arises by non-root condition: a rootless non-hindrance one aggregate conditions three aggregates and mind-originated form, etc., two aggregates, etc., (up to non-percipient beings) eye-base conditions eye-consciousness, etc., body-base conditions body-consciousness, base conditions rootless non-hindrance aggregates. (1) A non-hindrance phenomenon conditioned by a hindrance phenomenon arises by non-root condition: aggregates associated with doubt and associated with restlessness condition ignorance-hindrance, base conditions ignorance-hindrance. (2) 17. A hindrance and a non-hindrance phenomenon conditioned by a hindrance phenomenon arises by non-root condition: doubt-hindrance and associated aggregates condition ignorance-hindrance, restlessness-hindrance and associated aggregates condition ignorance-hindrance, doubt-hindrance and base condition ignorance-hindrance, restlessness-hindrance and base condition ignorance-hindrance (abbreviated). (1) 2. Negative Conditioning 2. Section of Enumeration Simple 18. In non-root, four, in non-object, three, in non-dominance, nine, in non-immediacy, three, in non-co-immediacy, three, in non-mutuality, three, in non-strong-dependence, three, in non-pre-existence, nine, in non-post-existence, nine, in non-repetition, nine, in non-kamma, three, in non-result, nine, in non-nutriment, one, in non-faculty, one, in non-jhana, one, in non-path, one, in non-association, three, in non-disassociation, nine, in non-absence, three, in non-disappearance, three. 3. Condition-Direct-Opposite 19. Root condition, in non-object, three, in non-dominance, nine (abbreviated). 4. Conducive to the Opposing Conditions 20. By non-root condition, in object four, in contiguity four, in immediate contiguity four… (etc.)… in path three, in non-disappearance four. 5. Associated Chapter 1-4. Condition Tetrad 21. An associated hindrance arises from a hindrance by root condition – sensual desire hindrance associated with sloth-and-torpor hindrance, restlessness hindrance, ignorance hindrance (cycle. All hindrances should be elaborated). 22. In root nine, in object nine (everywhere nine), in result one… (etc.)… in non-disappearance nine. Conducive. 23. An associated hindrance arises from a hindrance by non-root condition – doubt hindrance associated with ignorance hindrance, restlessness hindrance associated with ignorance hindrance (abbreviated). 24. In non-root four, in non-domination nine, in non-pre-arising nine, in non-post-arising nine, in non-repetition nine, in non-kamma three, in non-result nine, in non-jhāna one, in non-path one, in non-disassociation nine. Opposing. 6. Concomitant Chapter (Thus, the other two enumerations and the concomitant chapter should also be done.) 7. Question Chapter 1. Conducive to Conditions 1. Analysis Chapter Root Condition 25. A hindrance condition is a condition for a hindrance by root condition – hindrance roots are a condition for associated hindrances by root condition. (1) A hindrance condition is a condition for a non-hindrance by root condition – hindrance roots are a condition for associated aggregates and mind-originated material forms by root condition. (2) A hindrance condition is a condition for a hindrance and a non-hindrance by root condition – hindrance roots are a condition for associated aggregates, hindrances, and mind-originated material forms by root condition. (3) A non-hindrance condition is a condition for a non-hindrance by root condition – non-hindrance roots are a condition for associated aggregates and mind-originated material forms. It is a condition by way of root condition; at the moment of rebirth-linking... (and so on). Object Condition An obstructive phenomenon is a condition for an obstructive phenomenon by way of object condition – taking obstructions as object, obstructions arise. Taking obstructions as object, non-obstructive aggregates arise. Taking obstructions as object, obstructions and associated aggregates arise. A non-obstructive phenomenon is a condition for a non-obstructive phenomenon by way of object condition – having performed giving... morality... Uposatha-kamma, one reflects on it. Previously well-practiced deeds... having emerged from jhana, jhana... having emerged from the noble path, the path... the fruit... Nibbāna... Nibbāna is a condition by way of object condition for gotrabhū, vodāna, path, fruit, and advertence. Noble ones reflect on non-obstructive, abandoned defilements. Suppressed defilements... Previously accumulated deeds... the eye... the base, non-obstructive aggregates as impermanent... sorrow arises. With the divine eye, one sees forms. With the divine ear element, one hears sounds. With the knowledge of penetration of minds, one knows the mind of one endowed with a non-obstructive mind. The base of infinite space for the base of infinite consciousness... the base of nothingness for the base of neither perception nor non-perception... the form base for eye-consciousness... the tangible base for body-consciousness... Non-obstructive aggregates are a condition by way of object condition for the knowledge of psychic powers, the knowledge of penetration of minds, the knowledge of recollection of past lives, the knowledge of the passing away and reappearance of beings according to their karma, the knowledge of future events, and advertence. A non-obstructive phenomenon is a condition for an obstructive phenomenon by way of object condition – one relishes and delights in giving... morality... Uposatha-kamma... previously well-practiced deeds... jhana... the eye... the base, non-obstructive aggregates. Taking that as object, lust arises. Wrong view... doubt... restlessness... sorrow arises. A non-obstructive phenomenon For defilement and non-defilement states as object condition, there is a condition – giving... virtue... Uposatha practice... formerly well-done deeds... absorptions... the eye... the base (body)... one enjoys and delights in non-defilement aggregates; based on that, defilements and associated aggregates arise. Defilement and non-defilement states are a condition for defilement states by way of object condition... Dominance Condition A defilement state is a condition for a defilement state by way of dominance condition. Dominance by object – making defilements important, defilements arise... A non-defilement state is a condition for a non-defilement state by way of dominance condition – dominance by object, dominance by co-arising. Dominance by object – having performed giving... virtue... Uposatha practice, making that important, one reviews it. Formerly well-done deeds... absorptions... having emerged from noble paths, the path... the fruit... Nibbana... Nibbana is a condition for the lineage-change, for purification, for the path, for the fruit, by way of dominance condition. The eye... the base (body)... making non-defilement aggregates important, one enjoys and delights in them. Making that important, greed arises, wrong view arises. Dominance by co-arising – a non-defilement dominant factor is a condition for associated aggregates and mind-originated material forms by way of dominance condition. A non-defilement state is a condition for a defilement state by way of dominance condition – dominance by object, dominance by co-arising. Dominance by object – giving... virtue... Uposatha practice... formerly... absorptions... the eye... the base (body)... making non-defilement aggregates important, one enjoys and delights in them. Making that important, greed arises, wrong view arises. Dominance by co-arising – a non-defilement dominant factor is a condition for associated defilements by way of dominance condition. A non-defilement state for defilement and non-defilement... And of the non-hindrance phenomenon is a condition by way of predominance condition: object predominance, conascence predominance. Object predominance: generosity...etc... virtue...etc... Uposatha observance...etc... formerly...etc... jhanas...etc... eye...etc... base. Making the non-hindrance aggregates weighty, one tastes and delights in them. Making that weighty, hindrances and associated aggregates arise. Conascence predominance: non-hindrance predominance is a condition by way of predominance condition for the associated aggregates, and for the hindrances, and for the mind-originated material phenomena.
