Contiguity Condition 24. A causal phenomenon is a condition by way of contiguity for a causal phenomenon – earlier earlier causes for later later causes. by way of immediate contiguity condition. (1) The condition of root phenomena by way of immediate contiguity condition for non-root phenomena – previous previous roots are by way of immediate contiguity condition for subsequent subsequent non-root aggregates. (2) The condition of root phenomena by way of immediate contiguity condition for root phenomena and non-root phenomena – previous previous roots are by way of immediate contiguity condition for subsequent subsequent roots and associated aggregates. (3) 25. The condition of non-root phenomena by way of immediate contiguity condition for non-root phenomena – previous previous non-root aggregates are by way of immediate contiguity condition for subsequent subsequent non-root aggregates; in direct order, for gotrabhu (briefly), the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception is by way of immediate contiguity condition for fruition attainment. A root phenomenon is a condition for a root phenomenon by way of decisive support condition – by way of object decisive support, by way of contiguity decisive support, by way of natural decisive support… By way of natural decisive support – roots are a condition for roots by way of decisive support condition. (1) A root phenomenon is a condition for a non-root phenomenon by way of decisive support condition – by way of object decisive support, by way of contiguity decisive support, by way of natural decisive support… By way of natural decisive support – roots are a condition for non-root aggregates by way of decisive support condition. (2) A root phenomenon is a condition for a root phenomenon and a non-root phenomenon by way of decisive support condition – by way of object decisive support, by way of contiguity decisive support, by way of natural decisive support… By way of natural decisive support – roots are a condition for roots and associated aggregates by way of decisive support condition. (3) 29. A non-root phenomenon is a condition for a non-root phenomenon by way of decisive support condition – by way of object decisive support, by way of contiguity decisive support, by way of natural decisive support… By way of natural decisive support – relying on faith, one gives alms… one produces attainment… one grasps a view; relying on morality… relying on a dwelling, one gives alms… one splits the Sangha; faith… a dwelling is a condition for faith… for attainment of fruition by way of decisive support condition. (1) A non-root phenomenon is a condition for a root phenomenon by way of decisive support condition – by way of object decisive support, by way of contiguity decisive support, by way of natural decisive support… By way of natural decisive support – relying on faith… relying on a dwelling, one gives alms… one splits the Sangha; faith… a dwelling is a condition for faith… for the aspiration for the path, for attainment of fruition by way of decisive support condition. (2) A non-root phenomenon is a condition for a root phenomenon and a non-root phenomenon by way of decisive support condition – by way of object decisive support, by way of contiguity decisive support, by way of natural decisive support… By way of natural decisive support (similar to the second decisive support). (3) 30. Root phenomena and non-root phenomena For the root condition phenomenon, there is a condition by way of decisive support – object decisive support, immediate decisive support, natural decisive support…and so on…. Natural decisive support – roots and associated aggregates are a condition for roots by way of decisive support. (1) Root and non-root phenomena for the non-root phenomenon are a condition by way of decisive support – object decisive support, immediate decisive support, natural decisive support…and so on…. Natural decisive support – roots and associated aggregates are a condition for non-root aggregates by way of decisive support. (2) Root and non-root phenomena for the root and non-root phenomenon are a condition by way of decisive support – object decisive support, immediate decisive support, natural decisive support…and so on…. Natural decisive support – roots and associated aggregates are a condition for roots and associated aggregates by way of decisive support. (3) Pre-nascent condition 31. A non-root phenomenon for a non-root phenomenon is a condition by way of pre-nascence – object pre-nascence, base pre-nascence. Object pre-nascence – the eye…and so on… the base as impermanent…and so on… displeasure arises; with the divine eye one sees form, with the divine ear element one hears sound, the form-base for eye-consciousness…and so on… the tangible-base for body-consciousness…and so on…. Base pre-nascence – the eye-base…and so on… the body-base…and so on… the base for non-root aggregates is a condition by way of pre-nascence. (1) A non-root phenomenon for a root phenomenon is a condition by way of pre-nascence – object pre-nascence, base pre-nascence. Object pre-nascence – the eye…and so on… the base as impermanent…and so on… displeasure arises; with the divine eye one sees form, with the divine ear element one hears sound. Base pre-nascence – the base for roots is a condition by way of pre-nascence. (2) A non-root phenomenon for a root and non-root phenomenon is a condition by way of pre-nascence – object pre-nascence, base pre-nascence. Object pre-nascence – the eye…and so on… the base as impermanent... (and so on)... sorrow arises. Base-pre-arisen – the base is a condition by way of pre-arisen condition for roots and conjoined aggregates. (3) Beginning with Post-arisen Condition 32. Root condition is a condition for a non-root condition by way of post-arisen condition – post-arisen roots are a condition for this pre-arisen body by way of post-arisen condition. (1) Non-root condition is a condition for a non-root condition by way of post-arisen condition – post-arisen non-root aggregates are a condition for this pre-arisen body by way of post-arisen condition. (1) Root and non-root conditions are a condition for a non-root condition by way of post-arisen condition – post-arisen roots and conjoined aggregates are a condition for this pre-arisen body by way of post-arisen condition.
