The Triad of Internal Objects 1. Section on Conditioned Arising 1. Affirmative Conditions 1. Section on Analysis Root Condition 1. An internal object phenomenon conditioned by an internal object phenomenon arises through root condition. Conditioned by one internal object aggregate, three aggregates... ...two aggregates... At the moment of rebirth-linking, conditioned by one internal object aggregate, three aggregates... ...two aggregates... (1) An external object phenomenon conditioned by an external object phenomenon arises through root condition. Conditioned by one external object aggregate, three aggregates... ...two aggregates... At the moment of rebirth-linking, conditioned by one external object aggregate, three aggregates... ...two aggregates... (1) Object Condition, etc. 2. An internal object phenomenon conditioned by an internal object phenomenon arises through object condition... ...through non-disappearance condition (abbreviated). 1. Affirmative Conditions 2. Section on Enumeration 3. In root condition, two (abbreviated, two everywhere), in non-disappearance condition, two (thus should it be counted). Affirmative. 2. Negative Conditions 1. Section on Analysis Non-root Condition 4. An internal object phenomenon conditioned by an internal object phenomenon arises through non-root condition. Conditioned by one rootless internal object aggregate, three aggregates... ...two aggregates... At the moment of rootless rebirth-linking, conditioned by one internal object aggregate, three aggregates... ...two aggregates... Conditioned by aggregates associated with doubt and restlessness, doubt and restlessness and delusion associated with them. (1) An external object phenomenon conditioned by an external object phenomenon arises through non-root condition. Conditioned by one rootless external object aggregate, three aggregates... ...two aggregates... At the moment of rootless rebirth-linking... ...conditioned by aggregates associated with doubt and restlessness, doubt and restlessness and delusion associated with them. (1) Non-predominance condition, etc. 5. Internal object... Dependent on an object phenomenon, an internal-object phenomenon arises, not by way of predominant condition... (similar to direct co-arising, not different-making) not by way of pre-nascent condition – in the formless, dependent on one internal-object aggregate...etc... at the moment of rebirth-linking...etc.... (1) 6. Dependent on an external-object phenomenon, an external-object phenomenon arises, not by way of pre-nascent condition – in the formless, dependent on one external-object aggregate, three aggregates...etc.... At the moment of rebirth-linking...etc... not by way of post-nascent condition... not by way of repetition condition... (similar to co-arising) not by way of kamma condition – dependent on internal-object aggregates, internal-object volition. Dependent on an external-object phenomenon, an external-object phenomenon arises, not by way of kamma condition – dependent on external-object aggregates, external-object volition. And so on, not by way of result condition. 7. Dependent on an internal-object phenomenon, an internal-object phenomenon arises, not by way of result condition (there is no rebirth-linking)... not by way of jhāna condition...etc... one internal-object accompanied by fivefold consciousness...etc.... (1) Dependent on an external-object phenomenon, an external-object phenomenon arises, not by way of jhāna condition – dependent on one external-object aggregate accompanied by fivefold consciousness, three aggregates...etc... not by way of path condition (not similar to root. there is no delusion)... not by way of dissociation condition – in the formless, dependent on one internal-object aggregate, three aggregates...etc.... (1) Dependent on an external-object phenomenon, an external-object phenomenon arises, not by way of dissociation condition – in the formless, dependent on one external-object aggregate, three aggregates...etc.... (1) 2. The Negative of Conditions 2. The Section on Enumeration 8. Not by way of root, two; not by way of predominance, two; not by way of pre-nascent, two; not by way of post-nascent, two; not by way of repetition, not by way of kamma, not by way of result, not by way of jhāna, not by way of path, not by way of dissociation, two. (Thus it should be counted). The Negative. 3. The Direct-Negative of Conditions 9. By way of root condition, not by way of predominance, two...etc... not by way of result, two; not by way of dissociation, two. (thus it should be counted). Anuloma-Paccanīya. 4. Paccaya-Paccanīya-Anuloma 10. From non-cause condition, in object two, in immediate two, in co-immediate two…etc… in path two…etc… in unseparated two (thus it should be counted). Paccanīya-Anuloma. Paṭicca-Vāra. 2-6. Sahajāta-Paccaya-Nissaya-Saṃsaṭṭha-Sampayutta-Vāra (The Sahajāta-Vāra, the Paccaya-Vāra, the Nissaya-Vāra, the Saṃsaṭṭha-Vāra, and the Sampayutta-Vāra are similar to the Paṭicca-Vāra.) 7. Pañhā-Vāra 1. Paccaya-Anuloma 1. Vibhaṅga-Vāra Hetu-Paccaya (Root Condition) 11. An internal-object phenomenon is a condition for an internal-object phenomenon by way of root condition – internal-object roots are a condition for associated aggregates by way of root condition. At the moment of rebirth, internal-object roots are a condition for associated aggregates by way of root condition. (1) An external-object phenomenon is a condition for an external-object phenomenon by way of root condition – external-object roots are a condition for associated aggregates…etc… at the moment of rebirth…etc…. (1) Ārammaṇa-Paccaya (Object Condition) 12. An internal-object phenomenon is a condition for an internal-object phenomenon by way of object condition – one reflects on the internal consciousness-base, one reflects on the neither-perception-nor-non-perception-base, one reflects on the internal divine eye which is an internal object, the divine ear element…etc… the knowledge of psychic powers…etc… the knowledge of recollecting past lives…etc… the knowledge of the passing away and reappearance of beings according to their kamma…etc… the knowledge of future events. Noble ones reflect on the abandoned defilements which are internal objects, they reflect on the suppressed defilements, they know the defilements accumulated in the past. Regarding internal-object internal aggregates, one sees them as impermanent…etc… one enjoys them, delights in them, due to that, internal-object lust arises…etc… internal-object displeasure arises. Internal-object internal aggregates are a condition for the knowledge of recollecting past lives, for the knowledge of the passing away and reappearance of beings according to their kamma, for the knowledge of future events, for advertence, by way of object condition. Condition. (1) An internal object phenomenon is a condition for an external object phenomenon by way of object condition. He reflects on the external sphere of infinite consciousness; he reflects on the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception. He reflects on the internal object, external divine eye; divine ear element... knowledge of psychic powers... knowledge of recollection of past lives... knowledge of the passing away and reappearance of beings according to their karma... knowledge of future events, he reflects. He discerns internal object, external aggregates as impermanent, suffering, non-self... Internal object, external aggregates are a condition for knowledge of penetration of minds, for knowledge of recollection of past lives, for knowledge of the passing away and reappearance of beings according to their karma, for knowledge of future events, and for advertence, by way of object condition. (2) 13. An external object phenomenon is a condition for an external object phenomenon by way of object condition. He reflects on the external object, external divine eye; he reflects on the divine ear element. By means of knowledge of penetration of minds, he knows the mind of one endowed with an external object, external mind. External object, external aggregates are a condition for knowledge of penetration of minds, for knowledge of recollection of past lives, for knowledge of the passing away and reappearance of beings according to their karma, for knowledge of future events, and for advertence, by way of object condition. (1) An external object phenomenon is a condition for an internal object phenomenon by way of object condition.
