Miscellaneous Chapter on Buddhas 1. In immeasurable eons, there were four leaders; Taṇhaṅkara, Medhaṅkara, and also Saraṇaṅkara; and Dīpaṅkara, the Fully Awakened One, those Victors were in one eon. 2. After Dīpaṅkara, there was a leader named Koṇḍañña. He alone in one eon saved many people. 3. Between the Blessed One Dīpaṅkara and the Teacher Koṇḍañña, the eons in between them are immeasurable in number. 4. After Koṇḍañña, there was a leader named Maṅgala. The eons in between them also are immeasurable in number. 5. Maṅgala and Sumana, Revata, Sobhita, the sages; those Buddhas also in one eon, were endowed with vision, illuminators. 6. After Sobhita, there was Anomadassī, of great fame. The eons in between them also are immeasurable in number. 7. Anomadassī, Paduma, and also Nārada, the leader; those Buddhas also in one eon, were sages who made an end to darkness. 8. After Nārada, there was a leader named Padumuttara. He arose in one eon, and saved many people. 9. Between the Blessed One Nārada and the Teacher Padumuttara, the eons in between them also are immeasurable in number. 10. In one hundred thousand eons, there was one great sage; Padumuttara, knower of the world, recipient of offerings. 11. In thirty thousand eons, there were two leaders; Sumedha and Sujāta, after Padumuttara. 12. In eighteen hundred eons, there were three leaders; Piyadassī, Atthadassī, and Dhammadassī, the leaders. 13. After Sujāta, the Fully Awakened Ones, supreme among bipeds; those Buddhas in one eon, were unequalled individuals in the world. 14. In the ninety-fourth eon, there was one great sage; Siddhattha, he, knower of the world, the supreme surgeon. 15. In the ninety-second eon from this one, there were two leaders; Tissa and Phussa, the Fully Awakened Ones, unequalled, incomparable individuals. 16. In the ninety-first eon, there was a leader named Vipassī. He, the compassionate Buddha, released beings from bondage. In the thirty-first aeon from here, there were two leaders; Sikhi and Vessabhū, unequalled, incomparable persons. 18. In this auspicious aeon, there were three leaders; Kakusandha, Koṇāgamana, and Kassapa, the leader. 19. I am now the Fully Awakened One, and Metteyya will also be; These are these five Buddhas, wise ones, compassionate to the world. 20. These Kings of Dhamma, and many crores of others; having taught that path, they attained Nibbāna with their disciples. The Section on Miscellaneous Buddhas is finished.
