1. After Vipassī, The Fully Awakened One, supreme among two-footed beings; There was the Conqueror named Sikhī, Unequalled, an incomparable person. 2. Having crushed Māra's army, He attained the supreme enlightenment; He set in motion the Wheel of Dhamma, Out of compassion for living beings. 3. When the foremost Conqueror Sikhī Was setting in motion the Wheel of Dhamma; There was the first comprehension For a hundred thousand crores (of beings). 4. And when the supreme man, The chief of the assembly, was teaching the Dhamma again; There was the second comprehension For ninety thousand crores (of beings). 5. And when he was displaying The Twin Miracle, together with the devas; There was the third comprehension For eighty thousand crores (of beings). 6. There were three assemblies, Also for the great sage Sikhī; Of those whose defilements were destroyed, Stainless, with peaceful minds, such ones. 7. The first gathering was Of a hundred thousand monks; The second gathering was Of eighty thousand monks. 8. The third gathering was Of seventy thousand monks; Unsullied like a lotus, Grown in water. 9. At that time, I was A khattiya named Arindama; I satisfied the Saṅgha, With the Fully Awakened One at its head, with food and drink. 10. Having given many excellent cloths, Not a small number of crores of cloths; I gave an adorned elephant vehicle To the Fully Awakened One. 11. Having created an elephant vehicle, I offered it appropriately; I fulfilled my mind's wish, Always firmly established. 12. That Buddha, Sikhī, The leader of the world, also declared about me; "In the thirty-first aeon from now, This one will become a Buddha. 13. "From the delightful Kapilavhaya... ...etc... ...we shall be face to face with him." 14. Having heard his words, I gladdened my mind even more; I undertook further vows, For the fulfillment of the ten perfections. 15. The city was named Aruṇavatī, The khattiya was named Aruṇa; The mother was named Prabhāvatī, Also for the great sage Sikhī. 16. For seven thousand years, He resided in the household; Sucandaka, Girivasabha, These three supreme palaces... ā. 17. Twenty-four thousand women adorned; A woman named Sabbakāmā, a son named Atula. 18. Having seen the four signs, he went forth by elephant-vehicle; For eight months the practice of exertion the supreme man practiced. 19. Being requested by Brahmā, Sikhī, the leader of the world; The great hero set in motion the wheel, the supreme man in Migadāya. 20. Abhibhū and Sambhava were the chief disciples; An attendant named Khemaṅkara for Sikhī, the great sage. 21. Sakhilā and Padumā were the chief female disciples; The Bodhi tree of that Blessed One is called Puṇḍarīka. 22. Sirivaḍḍha and Nanda were the chief male lay followers; Cittā and Suguttā were the chief female lay followers. 23. That Buddha, in height, was seventy cubits tall; Like a golden pillar, possessing the thirty-two excellent marks. 24. From his body, a fathom-long aura, day and night, continuously; Radiated in all directions, a light of three yojanas. 25. Seventy thousand years was the life-span of that great sage; Remaining for that long, he saved many people. 26. Having poured the rain of Dhamma, having soaked the world with its deities; Having led to the secure state, he attained Nibbāna with his disciples. 27. Endowed with minor characteristics, and the thirty-two excellent marks; All that disappeared— are not all conditioned things empty? 28. Sikhī, the supreme sage, the Buddha, attained Nibbāna in the Assārāma; There indeed his excellent stupa was three yojanas high. The twentieth lineage of the Blessed One Sikhī.
