She went forth, fearing sorrow and fear. Six supernormal powers realized, By her, training for the highest fruit. 519. That was wonderful, amazing, Nibbāna came to the princess. The course of former existences, As she declared in later times. 520. "In the time of the Blessed One Koṇāgamana, In the monastery, in a new dwelling, Three women, friends, We gave a dwelling as a gift. 521. "Ten times, a hundred times, A thousand times, and hundreds of hundreds of times, We arose among the devas; What then to speak of humans? 522. "Among devas, we were greatly powerful; What then to speak of human existence? The chief queen of seven jewels, I was the jewel of a woman. 523. "That was the cause, that was the origin, That was the root, that patience in the Dispensation. That was the first conjunction, That Nibbāna for the delight in Dhamma." 524. Thus do those who have faith, In the word of the one of peerless wisdom. They grow weary of existence, Having grown weary, they become dispassionate. Thus indeed, The elder Sumedha Uttered these verses. The Great Section is finished. The Therīgāthā are completed. Four hundred verses, Eighty, and again fourteen; One hundred and one Therīs, All of them with defilements destroyed. The Pāli text of the Therīgāthā is finished.
