ashamed of it, loathing it, delight in non-becoming – 'For indeed, sirs, this self [being] upon the breaking up of the body, after death, is annihilated, perishes, does not exist after death; this is peaceful, this is excellent, this is true.' Thus, monks, do some rush past. "And how, monks, do the clear-sighted see? Here, a monk sees what has come to be as what has come to be; having seen what has come to be as what has come to be, he is practicing for dispassion towards what has come to be, for fading away, for cessation. Thus, monks, do the clear-sighted see." This meaning the Blessed One spoke. Therein this is said: "He who, having seen what has come to be as what has come to be, and the transcendence of what has come to be; In what has come to be, released... they declare, by the destruction of craving for existence. "He indeed, having fully understood existence, he is free from craving in all forms of existence; By the cessation of existence, the monk does not come to renewed existence." This meaning too was spoken by the Blessed One, thus have I heard. The twelfth. The second chapter is finished. Its Summary – Two faculties, two torments, by virtue, two others; Shameless, deceit, and two, by what causes spiritual urgency, those ten. Thoughts, teaching, knowledge, wisdom, by Dhamma, the fifth; Unborn, of the elements, of the darts, training, and by wakefulness; And by wrong view leading to lower realms, twenty-two are declared. The Book of Twos is finished.
