15. Happiness Chapter 197. Oh, we live so happily, among the hostile, without hostility; Among hostile people, we dwell without hostility. 198. Oh, we live so happily, among the ailing, without ailment; Among ailing people, we dwell without ailment. 199. Oh, we live so happily, among the anxious, without anxiety; Among anxious people, we dwell without anxiety. 200. Oh, we live so happily, we who have nothing; We shall feed on joy, like the Radiant Gods. 201. Victory breeds hatred, the defeated one sleeps in sorrow; The peaceful one sleeps happily, having abandoned victory and defeat. 202. There is no fire like lust, no evil like hatred; There is no suffering like the aggregates, there is no happiness beyond peace. 203. Hunger is the worst illness, conditioned things are the worst suffering; Knowing this as it truly is, Nibbāna is the supreme happiness. 204. Health is the supreme gain, contentment is the supreme wealth; Trust is the supreme kinsman, Nibbāna is the supreme happiness. 205. Having drunk the taste of solitude, and the taste of tranquility; He becomes fearless and blameless, drinking the taste of Dhamma-joy. 206. Good is the sight of the Noble Ones, their company is always pleasant; By not seeing fools, one would always be happy. 207. Indeed, one who associates with fools, grieves for a long time; Painful is cohabitation with fools, always like with an enemy; But pleasant is cohabitation with the wise, like the gathering of kinsmen. 208. Therefore— A wise one, discerning and learned, of enduring virtue, observant and noble; Such a good person, intelligent, one should associate with, as the moon follows the path of the stars. Cultivate wisdom, like the moon the path of the constellations. The Chapter on Happiness, the fifteenth, is finished.
