He goes by desire, he goes by hatred, he goes by delusion, he goes by fear, he does not know what is assigned and unassigned – By these five qualities, monks, endowed, a food distributor should not be appointed. By five qualities, monks, endowed, a food distributor should be appointed. Which five? He does not go by desire, he does not go by hatred, he does not go by delusion, he does not go by fear, he knows what is assigned and unassigned – By these five qualities, monks, endowed, a food distributor should be appointed. By five qualities, monks, endowed, a food distributor, once appointed, should not be sent… …(and so on, for being sent, being known as foolish, being known as wise, harming oneself, not harming oneself, and being cast into hell)… …(and for being) cast into heaven as if brought there. Which five? He does not go by desire, he does not go by hatred, he does not go by delusion, he does not go by fear, he knows what is assigned and unassigned – By these five qualities, monks, endowed, a food distributor is cast into heaven as if brought there.’’ The First. 2-14.
