His disciples know him thus: "This venerable teacher, though his teaching of Dhamma is impure, claims: 'My teaching of Dhamma is pure,' 'My teaching of Dhamma is pure, cleansed, unblemished.'" And my disciples do not protect me in respect of my conduct, nor do I expect protection from my disciples in respect of my conduct. Being pure in livelihood, I declare, 'I am pure in livelihood,' 'My livelihood is pure, cleansed, unblemished.' And my disciples do not protect me in respect of my livelihood, nor do I expect protection from my disciples in respect of my livelihood. Being pure in teaching the Dhamma, I declare, 'I am pure in teaching the Dhamma,' 'My teaching of the Dhamma is pure, cleansed, unblemished.' And my disciples do not protect me in respect of my teaching the Dhamma, nor do I expect protection from my disciples in respect of my teaching the Dhamma. Being pure in explanation, I declare, 'I am pure in explanation,' 'My explanation is pure, cleansed, unblemished.' And my disciples do not protect me in respect of my explanation, nor do I expect protection from my disciples in respect of my explanation. Being pure in knowledge and vision, I declare, 'I am pure in knowledge and vision,' 'My knowledge and vision is pure, cleansed, unblemished.' And my disciples do not protect me in respect of my knowledge and vision, nor do I expect protection from my disciples in respect of my knowledge and vision. The Tenth. The Kakudha Chapter, the fifth. Its summary – Two Accomplishments, Explanation, Ease, Unshakeable, the fifth; Heard, Discourse, Forest-dweller, and Lion, Kakudha, these ten.
