This, monks, is the second future danger which has not arisen now, but will arise in the future. You should awaken to it; and having awakened, you should strive for its abandonment. Again, monks, there will be monks in the future who desire fine dwellings. Desiring fine dwellings, they will abandon dwelling at the root of a tree, they will abandon remote forest groves as dwellings; they will settle down in villages, towns, and royal capitals, and for the sake of dwellings, they will engage in various improper searches. This, monks, is the third future danger, not arisen now, but will arise in the future. You should awaken to it; and having awakened, you should strive for its abandonment. Again, monks, there will be monks in the future who will live mixed with bhikkhunis, female trainees, and male novices. When there is mixing with bhikkhunis, female trainees, and male novices, monks, this is to be expected: 'they will live the holy life discontentedly, or they will fall into some defiling offense, or they will renounce the training and return to a lower state.' This, monks, is the fourth future danger, not arisen now, but will arise in the future. You should awaken to it; and having awakened, you should strive for its abandonment. Again, monks, there will be monks in the future who will live mixed with monastery attendants and male novices. When there is mixing with monastery attendants and male novices, monks, this is to be expected: 'they will live devoted to various kinds of storing up and consuming, they will even make a gross sign, on the earth, or on the tips of plants.'
