Just as, Venerable Sir, when a heavy rain falls, the waters flow according to the slope; even so, Venerable Sir, wherever Wherever now the Blessed One goes, there indeed will go, inclined towards him, brahmins and householders, townspeople and country folk. For what reason? Because, venerable sir, of the Blessed One's virtue and wisdom. Let me not, Nāgita, associate with fame, nor fame with me. Whoever, Nāgita, is not easily obtaining, without trouble obtaining, without difficulty obtaining, this happiness of renunciation, happiness of seclusion, happiness of tranquility, happiness of awakening— which I obtain easily, without trouble, without difficulty— he would delight in that happiness of filth, happiness of sloth, happiness of gains, honor, and praise. For what is eaten, drunk, chewed, and tasted, Nāgita, there is excrement and urine— that is its outflow. From the change and alteration of dear things, Nāgita, arise sorrow, lamentation, pain, displeasure, and despair— that is its outflow. For one devoted to the contemplation of the unattractive, Nāgita, revulsion towards the attractive becomes established— that is its outflow. For one dwelling contemplating impermanence in the six sense bases, Nāgita, revulsion towards contact becomes established— that is its outflow. For one dwelling contemplating rise and fall in the five clinging-aggregates, Nāgita, revulsion towards clinging becomes established— that is its outflow. The Tenth. The Third Chapter on the Five Factors. Its Summary – Two kinds of disrespect and defilements, and by the unvirtuous supported; Liberation, concentration, five factors, walking, and with Nāgita.
