(13) 3. The Chapter on Giving 142. These two, monks, are donations. Which two? Material donation and Dhamma donation. These, monks, are the two donations. Of these two donations, monks, the foremost is Dhamma donation. 143. These two, monks, are offerings. Which two? Material offering and Dhamma offering. These, monks, are the two offerings. Of these two offerings, monks, the foremost is Dhamma offering. 144. These two, monks, are relinquishments. Which two? Material relinquishment and Dhamma relinquishment. These, monks, are the two relinquishments. Of these two relinquishments, monks, the foremost is Dhamma relinquishment. 145. These two, monks, are sacrifices. Which two? Material sacrifice and Dhamma sacrifice. These, monks, are the two sacrifices. Of these two sacrifices, monks, the foremost is Dhamma sacrifice. 146. These two, monks, are enjoyments. Which two? Material enjoyment and Dhamma enjoyment. These, monks, are the two enjoyments. Of these two enjoyments, monks, the foremost is Dhamma enjoyment. 147. These two, monks, are sharings. Which two? Material sharing and Dhamma sharing. These, monks, are the two sharings. Of these two sharings, monks, the foremost is Dhamma sharing. 148. These two, monks, are distributions. Which two? Material distribution and Dhamma distribution. These, monks, are the two distributions. Of these two distributions, monks, the foremost is Dhamma distribution. 149. These two, monks, are supports. Which two? Material support and Dhamma support. These, monks, are the two supports. Of these two supports, monks, the foremost is Dhamma support. 150. These two, monks, are assistances. Which two? Material assistance and Dhamma assistance. These Monks, there are two supports. This is the foremost, monks, of these two supports, namely, support by Dhamma. 151. Monks, there are these two compassions. Which are the two? Material compassion and Dhamma compassion. These, monks, are the two compassions.
