This enjoyer of sensual pleasures, chieftain, is censurable in three ways. In what three ways is he censurable? He seeks wealth unrighteously, with violence: in this first way he is censurable. He does not make himself happy, does not nourish himself: in this second way he is censurable. He does not share, does not perform meritorious deeds: in this third way he is censurable. This enjoyer of sensual pleasures, chieftain, is censurable in these three ways. Now, chieftain, as for the enjoyer of sensual pleasures who seeks wealth unrighteously, with violence, having sought wealth unrighteously, with violence, he makes himself happy, nourishes himself, but does not share, does not perform meritorious deeds. This enjoyer of sensual pleasures, chieftain, is censurable in two ways, praiseworthy in one way. In what two ways is he censurable? He seeks wealth unrighteously... He seeks by force, by this first point, he is blameworthy. He does not share, he does not do meritorious deeds, by this second point, he is blameworthy. By which one point is he praiseworthy? He makes himself happy, he nourishes himself, by this one point, he is praiseworthy. This person, headman, who enjoys sensual pleasures, by these two points, is blameworthy, by this one point, is praiseworthy. There, headman, this person who enjoys sensual pleasures, seeks wealth unrighteously, by force. Having sought wealth unrighteously, by force, he makes himself happy, he nourishes himself, he shares, he does meritorious deeds. This person, headman, who enjoys sensual pleasures, by one point is blameworthy, by two points is praiseworthy. By which one point is he blameworthy? He seeks wealth unrighteously, by force, by this one point, he is blameworthy. By which two points is he praiseworthy? He makes himself happy, he nourishes himself, by this first point, he is praiseworthy. He shares, he does meritorious deeds, by this second point, he is praiseworthy. This person, headman, who enjoys sensual pleasures, by this one point is blameworthy, by these two points is praiseworthy. This person, headman, who enjoys sensual pleasures, is praised in three ways, and blamed in one way. In which three ways is he praised?
