Homage to the Perfection of Equality Wisdom! The great pure appearance is the manifestation of the great meaning of yoga; this is the most sacred of all great transmissions. When abiding alone, know it to be like a wild animal. When wandering in charnel grounds, know it to be like an elephant. When possessing the experience of appearances, know it to be like an ocean. When awareness has matured to its limit, know it to be like a madman. When the yogi has abandoned the aggregates, know it to be like a charnel ground. When wisdom, mother and child, meet, know it to be like the sun and moon. When knowledge has faded into unconsciousness, know it to be like the sky. The yoga of knowing these things includes the great unborn certainty; it is the other shore of all appearances. The seventeen heart-essences of the tantras, when combined into a single meditation, are like a tree with spreading branches. The sixteen practical instructions, when gathered into a single awareness, are like pearls strung on a thread. The pith instructions of the empowerments, when shown as two entrustments, are like a key to open a vast treasury. The four wondrous pith instructions, when complete in a single yoga, are like placing a finger on the eye. The four amazing words, when bestowed in the ear of a fortunate one, are like a cuckoo in the ear of a lean sheep. The four ultimate secret meanings, when the essential point of the result is brought down, are like the life-essence seized from the vital point. The seventeen great secret tantras, when known by a single yoga, are like opening the door to a rich man's treasury. Those seventeen essential points, when combined with the text of the great tantras, are like an elephant grasping something with its trunk. The four pith instructions of explanation, when planted in the mind of a person, are like a waterfall cascading from a mountain peak. The seventeen special pith instructions, when one person has power over them, are like a lamp in a dark cave. With the quill of the magical letter, when the meaning of Āli (藏文，梵文天城体：आलि，梵文罗马拟音：ā li，汉语字面意思：阿利) and Kāli (藏文，梵文天城体：कालि，梵文罗马拟音：kāli，汉语字面意思：嘎里) are combined, it is like the translation of the sound of the Kalaviṅka bird. When speaking to others, it is like a sesame oil sword forged with intensity; the inner and outer bindu lead the two; whoever becomes accustomed to it, is like a king ruling over his subjects; with the instructions of the four sessions, to make that itself the path, is like a person who has been dismissed from service; with the advice of the four ways of abiding, seeking the place of yogic knowledge, is like going to the top of a high mountain; for the five kinds of last testaments, to make them the path at the time of death, is like a great thunderbolt falling on the earth; a person who possesses all of these, abandoning activities and looking, is like meeting an inexhaustible treasure; therefore, these letters, the yogi should keep secret and practice; in an extremely solitary place, abide like a humble wild animal; in a place free from bustle, abide like an ordinary person; in a place without enemies or friends, abide like a beggar; in a place without a specific place, abide in a way that is as you please. Emaho! Seeing the ground, there is no root; seeing the nature of reality, there is no meditation; seeing awareness, there is no instruction; seeing appearance, there is no view; seeing meaning, there is no compassion; seeing mind, there is no action; seeing birth and death, there is no virtue or vice; seeing phenomena, there is no Buddha; seeing delusion, there is no hell; seeing myself, there is nothing. Taking it into experience is a secret book; in the index of all instructions; Śrī Siṃha wrote it himself. The great commentary on the meaning of all that is called "The Lamp of the Condensed Index of Instructions," is complete! རྒྱ་རྒྱ་རྒྱ༔ May the mantra protectors Ekajati and the Hat Protector, the lord of samaya, protect it, I entrust it. May it meet with a destined one! Like me, the mad Lecun, having practiced in solitude in the mountains, cut off the single root; having abandoned the bustle of servants and attendants, appearance dawns as a friend; instructions are not sold for wealth, the blessing is a great light; having brought all phenomena to exhaustion, one is separated from both view and meditation; having practiced the four sounds, the elements cannot be overcome by enemies; having practiced the instructions according to the text, various siddhis are accomplished; now there is no difference between liberation and non-liberation.
