The Preliminary Guru Yoga of Naraka Dongtruk is: With refuge and bodhicitta as the preliminary, purify the environment and beings without conceptualization by the light from the heart of oneself, clearly visualized as the primordial deity. From within emptiness, the dwelling becomes a pure realm, vast and extensive. In the sky in front, on a precious throne supported by eight great lions, on a lotus, sun, and moon seat, one's own root guru appears as the glorious Vajrasattva in union, male and female, radiating light from their heart. Invite the gurus of the three times, the deities, peaceful and wrathful, the dakinis, and dharma protectors, and dissolve them into the guru. Believe that the guru in union abides as the essence of all buddhas. With devotion that makes the hairs stand on end and tears flow, supplicate: I supplicate the guru of the dharmakaya. I supplicate the guru of the sambhogakaya. I supplicate the guru of the nirmanakaya. I supplicate the victorious guru of the mind lineage. I supplicate the vidyadhara guru of the symbol lineage. I supplicate the individual guru of the oral lineage. I supplicate the indivisible Vajrasattva. Please bless to cut through conflicting obstacles. Please bless to make favorable conditions manifest. Please bless to generate the five wisdoms in the mindstream. Please bless to experience the four empowerments. Please bless to generate the three kinds of realization of samadhi. Please bless to make whatever appears arise as the mandala of deities. Please bless to make whatever sounds arise as the inexpressible sound of mantra. Please bless to make whatever moves arise as self-aware great bliss. Please bless to purify transgressions, conceptual obscurations, and obstacles in the dharmadhatu. Please bless to realize the equality of samsara and nirvana. Please bless to realize the ultimate truth of non-duality. Please bless that I and all other sentient beings may attain the state of Samantabhadra Vajrasattva, endowed with the five kayas and five wisdoms. Having supplicated in this way as much as possible, from the union of the guru Vajrasattva in union, a stream of bodhicitta nectar descends, dissolving into the three doors of body, speech, and mind, purifying the defilements of the three doors. Having received the three empowerments of vase, secret, and wisdom, establish the auspicious connection to attain the siddhis of the three vajras. Having obtained the self-arisen speech empowerment jewel, the nature of non-dual wisdom vajra, think that you have attained mastery over the siddhi of wisdom vajra, relax for a moment, and rest in equanimity.
