Thus it was said. The fourth chapter from the latter part of the Guhyatantra that reveals the wisdom of Samantabhadra is complete. The Ultimate Tantra is complete. In Sanskrit: Santi Maha Samanta Bhadra Vita Guhya Nama Tantra. In Tibetan: The Latter Secret Tantra Called "The Great Perfection, Samantabhadra, Revealing Clear Wisdom." Homage to glorious Vajrasattva. Then, glorious Samantabhadra spoke again: Listen, glorious Vajrasattva. If you wish to realize empty-clear awareness as the Dharmakaya, first, hold the mind. Then, taking it as the path means relying on the method of having meditation. Relying on wisdom without meditation means knowing all awareness as empty-clear. These two are said to be inseparable. Know them to be inseparable in this way. Thus he taught. The first chapter from the Latter Tantra is complete. Then, he taught again: This appearance and existence are uncertain, therefore it is mind. Why is that? The appearance is uncertain. For example, pretas see palaces in the water, hungry ghosts see pus and blood, and humans see water. Therefore, it is uncertain. Therefore, this appearance is the illusion of one's own mind. The mind is the appearance of self-arisen wisdom, empty and clear. Thus he said. The second chapter from the Latter Tantra is complete. Then, he taught again: Appearance appears as being without inherent nature from the beginning. Mistaking what is not for what is causes confusion. Grasping "I" as self causes afflictions to arise from that. Therefore, one wanders in samsara. By realizing awareness as empty-clear, inner experience arises outwardly, so one sees appearance as an illusion. Like a fog, seeing only vaguely and dimly, one turns away from afflictions and becomes supremely the nature of reality, the supreme master of yoga. Thus he said. The third chapter from the Latter Tantra is complete. Then, glorious Samantabhadra taught: Thus, Vajrasattva, having taken its meaning to heart, should hold this tantra of supreme wisdom and clarity. Thus he taught, and all the retinue rejoiced. Thus he said. The latter part of the Great Perfection, Samantabhadra, Revealing Clear Wisdom.
